Storm, shells and more sun

The kids love the waves coming in. The problem, however, is that Little M gets taken by it.

Daddy dumps water on the girls. Perhaps no one told him that there is a an ocean behind him that is repeatedly wetting all of them.

A storm rolled in with strong wind.  We left our canopy up and the storm twisted it like a pretzel. It is in its last leg. We leave it at night without the tent so that we can use it the next day. We need it to last because the kids already had sun burn.

After checking on the canopy, daddy and I look for shark teeth. Unfortunately we only found a couple of teeny tiny ones.

Beach souvenir!

Silly, silly people.

Off to the beach!

After a very busy, very labor intensive summer, we finally took a well-deserved family vacation to the beach. It was supposed to be a 12-hour drive but with frequent potty breaks, meals and traffic in Virginia on I-95 (will that highway ever be finished???)  it took us 19 hours.

Mr Cool

The kids enjoying the waves coming in and getting sand in every cracks and crevices. They are probably not enjoying the latter.

My nekked feet. Yo.

Mighty Mite football

Today is the 3rd day of football practice: 2 1/2 hours everyday until school starts. It's tough, it's grueling, it's new to Big M but everyday he comes home and says he LOVES it.  Last night before going to bed, he told Daddy "thank you for letting me play football".

He is definitely using muscle groups that he has never used before, but he does what he is told. This video is his 2nd time around. The first boy he went up against was slightly bigger than him and Big M stopped him. He changed his hold on the other boy which caused him his momentum. One of the couches told him what to do and on this 2nd one, he did it.

This little guy definitely puts his all into whatever he does, and for now, it's football.

On a funny note, Daddy and is having a chuckle about him not being able to do sit ups. I'm not chuckling though, but I can't do one either.

Lowe's build and grow

We've been taking the kids to Lowes to build fun projects and everyone is loving it. Big M is enjoying building but he does need need help keeping the nails straight. The girls enjoy hammering, and Little M enjoys putting the stickers on.  It's quick, it's fun and it's great introduction to tools and being handy like their daddy.

Swimming with daddy

Swim class

I was only able I squeeze in 2 weeks of swim lessons for everyone in between moving and all the other million things we had to do, but it's 2 weeks of pure success.

Drama

Yet another accomplishment for K and J was their year-end production "Paradesia". Two weeks before the show their teacher approached me and asked if they had been practicing their lines. I sheepishly admitted that we haven't been practicing at all. After that we practiced several times a day. On the last class practice, their teacher again approached me and said not only did they know their lines, they knew other people's lines as well. Yay K and J !!! I am very proud of them.

The performance was awesome! Hey said their lines "loud and proud" and we had no difficulty hearing them. Not many people know the hard word that was put into it, but worked very very hard. I was grinning from ear to ear while watching.

Again, the medal they received at the end was such a reward for them. Bravo!

Football has begun

Big M has added to Football to his sports repertoire, and so the chauffeur mom & dad has opened for the year.

After 2 1/2 hours of practice on the first day, he said it was FUN!
