This is an important picture because for the first time Little M is coloring/drawing on purpose. Before this day, he held the crayon very lightly and made faint lines. This was earlier this week when I printed Noah's Ark coloring pages for each of the kids so we could read the story. Since then, whenever the girls sat down to color, Little M is also there doodling away.
On a different, but related note. This little monkey has been waking up way too early. Every day he wakes up at 5:30. Since we're too sleepy to get up then, we just let him walk around our room, which then leads to us discovering a little 2-year old naked (no diapers) sometimes eating lotion. Last night, Daddy and I decided to put him to bed an hour and half later in hopes that he would wake up later. So this morning, he decided to wake up at 5am instead. Really?
We were all exhausted when we arrived at the apartment. The girls slept without a problem and I thought Curious George wouldn't have a problem either, granted he was too excited because of the 2 massive Legos Santa left for him here. At closed to midnight, while I was walking around the upstairs getting ready for bed, I saw out of the corner of my eye someone walking. I got startled since there was no lights on, just night lights. Curious George was heading toward the stairs. I grabbed him and called his name, but he barely glanced at me. So I held him firmly and I said kept saying it was Mommy. Finally, he stopped 'fighting' me. I had him pee and put him right back in bed.
It's the first time he has ever sleep walk, and it was a little scary because we're in a new place and he could have fallen down the stairs. I grabbed one of the wooden baby gates we have (thank goodness to Daddy for taking those with us!) and put it on the top of the stairs. Every night since then, I have to put that up. But there has been no more incident after that. Phew!
Speaking of Lego, we went to one of the malls around here today and went to a Lego store. Daddy promised Curious George a while ago that when he gets a job he would buy him a Power Miner Lego he had been asking for. Of course when we got there, Curious George got busy looking at other stuff.
One woman working at the Lego store greeted us when we walked in, eager to give recommendations I guess. She asked how old Curious George was, but when we told him he is nearly 5, she slowly inched away. I don't know why though. Maybe because she thought she wasn't going to get a big sale because there is not much Lego for 5 years old? How wrong she was. tsk tsk tsk Curious George doesn't have the patience to build a massive one at this time, but he does build them himself by following directions.
The little man conked out 20 minutes into the long drive home on Monday. But notice the train track still in his hands. He will probably hate me for posting pictures like this when he gets older.
Here is Thing 1. It took her a little while to fall asleep being next Big Brother. But she finally fell asleep after her fingers found her mouth.
This is Katie during one of her naps one day. Both Katie and Jojo are tummy sleepers since they were just 3 months old. I found that out one morning out of frustration. Neither one wanted to go back to sleep after waking up for their 4 AM feeding, until I rolled them over.
I mentioned previously that I may have to split the girls up and put them in their own cribs very very soon because they are getting too big for one. Well, I've been stressing out about this. I want them to stay together as long as possible, because to separate them prematurely may cause them stress.
Well, it seems that they can stay together for a while longer because they have figured out a way to situate themselves nicely. Such smart little things, they are.
This is perfect! This gives them enough room from head to toe to stretch out, plus they are positioned in such a way that they don't smack each others faces and disturb each other.
The little Physicists have figured out the best position for maximum air flow so that they can keep cool during the hot days. Or perhaps it is a more efficient use of crib space?
Little Jo, I'm sorry to say that you have the bad end of the deal. If I were you, I'd move way from that general vicinity.
