Awesome work

K has to do a page about her family that she enjoyed doing. If course it wasn't complete until it had sparkles. The problem is not 5 minutes into it, Little M started ripping it. After tears and a promise of getting it fixed , K finally stopped the screaming.

Big M had to write a poem about fall. I had to help him but the the very awesome adjectives are all his.

The row houses were K's work before school. I didn't find it until after the kids had left school. She is so creative!

This is an important picture because for the first time Little M is coloring/drawing on purpose. Before this day, he held the crayon very lightly and made faint lines. This was earlier this week when I printed Noah's Ark coloring pages for each of the kids so we could read the story. Since then, whenever the girls sat down to color, Little M is also there doodling away.

On a different, but related note. This little monkey has been waking up way too early. Every day he wakes up at 5:30. Since we're too sleepy to get up then, we just let him walk around our room, which then leads to us discovering a little 2-year old naked (no diapers) sometimes eating lotion. Last night, Daddy and I decided to put him to bed an hour and half later in hopes that he would wake up later. So this morning, he decided to wake up at 5am instead. Really?

time to brag about my boy

When the girls and I picked up Curious George yesterday a handful of kids were drawing. Two of the kids were drawing people, one was making something resembling people, one was drawing a house. CG was drawing this. I asked him what it was and he said it's a water machine. It's a machine with a series of pipes that brings water (and later on, gas) to the house. He said this was for Daddy.

We asked him how he came up with it, and he explained that he sees it in his head and then it goes to his eyes. When the picture is in his eyes, the colors flash and that's what tells him what colors to use.

I'm not an expert, but I think most kids this age draw about what they are familiar with, not abstract stuff.

His teacher thinks nothing of the drawing, but we are very impressed by it. Both Daddy and I are proud. :)
