Family bowling

We spent memorial day having our family's very first bowling games together. In between turns we ate lunch. Little M was in the table getting fed by everyone, though we didn't know it at the time until the poor little monkey threw up from over eating.

Bumpers went up for the kids and came down for Daddy and I. The kids also used a ramp, but on our second game try kids tried without it. J won the first game. We didn't finig the second game but Daddy was in the lead. At one point the lights in the alley were dimmed, black lights turned on and music blared. The kids started dancing as if they were in a club. I will post a video of it another time.  We played a little arcade better heading home. It was a fun holiday.

Sir McNugget

The sheet of ice on the road has not had a chance to thaw yet and today it was covered by 6 in. of snow. Suffice it to say that there was no school again today. The 3 older kids and I went outside to play in the snow, though we couldn't make a snowman. The snow was too dry and fluffy, so the kids had fun brushing off the snow on the cars instead. I swear, I didn't tell them to do it. They just thought it was fun. They slipped a few times where there was ice underneath the snow. The neighbor's kids joined us to play, but after 20 minutes of playing, they went back in.

Daddy and Sir McNugget stayed inside where it was warm and cozy. We throw around cute nicknames for Little M, and I came up with "little nugget". We all thought it was cute. Daddy added the "MC" because of his initials. Big M brought out his knight gears so Little M was knighted.

Happy Halloween!

Buddy Bear was a guest at our house this weekend. He spends the weekend with those that are currently the Kindergarten's Star Student of the Week. Big M showed him the Halloween decoration in our front yard on the way to church this morning.

Then as soon as it got dark, we went trick or treating! We left a full bowl of candy in our front yard. We had to fill it up 3x.

When Snow White and Tinker Bell, and the little Monkey got tired we went back home. Big M and Daddy went to a few more houses.

Little Monkey was very good until he became very very tired.

This is a first time Daddy and I dressed up for the Halloween. We all definitely enjoyed ourselves! I looked a little scary though. Instead of buying white make-up, Daddy picked up a make-up base for me. It was waxy and my hair kept sticking to it. But I made do. The girls loved my red lips.

The girls' school held it's Halloween party earlier this week. It was perfect for the young ones. They played games to win candies. They loved showing off their costumes!

face painting

I saw a face painting kit at the craft store while buying Halloween crafts, so I tried my hand at it. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at it. Fortunately, I'm good enough to amuse my 3 year olds...not so much my 5 year old, though. I wasn't able to paint what he wanted me to do.

believe it or not, the black bug is supposed to be a spider. But it looks more like a tick.

my best work yet - a Lego logo. This boy is a Lego freak! By the way, I hear some people have already received their Lego holiday catalogs.  Shhh. Don't tell him because we don't have one.

Mother's Day is so much fun, it should be everyday!

Big M even read his sweet little note to me. J & K's gift is a very appropriate poem. There are tons of hand prints on the walls that that drive me nuts, but they are prints that will fade away just as the prints will. I need to appreciate the now and see the messes they make for what they are - a fun snapshot of their life.

Of course, Little M's gift is Little M. He is healthy and that's all that he needs to be right now. Though his one month check up today was not to his doctor's satisfaction. Today he weighed in at 10 lbs 2 oz. The pediatrician said that at one month, they like babies to have gained 2 lbs from their birth weight, so Little M is behind by 6 oz. He asked if I could pump, which sounded strange to me since I am exclusively breastfeeding. If I needed to pump to give him extra milk, why couldn't he just get it straight from the source? I a torn at the moment on whether to take this weight issue to heart, especially since Little M has been nursing every hour for a few days now. But I guess I can give him one formula feeding a day since the hospital sent us home with a few bottles.
