Murphy Maize Days

We took the kids to a community festival, Murphy Maize Days, mainly because I LOVE corn and so we just HAVE to be there. I had a grand plan of eating anything and everything corn. Thankfully they also had a lot of fun stuff for the kids.

This was a fun shot with all the scarecrows. At the end of the shot, J and K went to inspect the old lady scarecrow (the one Big M is standing next to) and inspected it. J then started squeezing what would have been the boobies. I had no idea what she was doing and why.

They also had fun inspecting the fire truck. (J is wearing a flower shirt).

Not too long ago, Big M was obsessed with fire trucks. While he still enjoys them, he couldn't answer me when I asked what kind of fire truck this was. I guess fire trucks are a thing of the past for him.

J heads up the trek all the way up this Gorilla bounce slide.

K screaming all the way down.

This is Little M attempting to climb this wall. He never really made it up but a few feet because he couldn't coordinate both his arms and legs to climb up. He was using his arms mainly which tired him out within minutes. K and J were in line at first too because they really wanted to climb. But after seeing a small girl being stuck because she couldn't climb up anymore and yet she was too light for the rope to get her down, I decided the girls shouldn't try this one at all.

asian festival

We went to an asian festival this weekend (minus Daddy and Little M, because Daddy was sick) with some friends. These little kiddos don't know much about what is to be Filipino so we thought it would be great to take them there. We saw some traditional Filipino dances (as well as other cultural dances) and martial arts demonstrations. J and K called the martial artists Power Rangers. They are heavily into Power Rangers Samurai at the moment.

Big M wanted to buy some traditional chinese Kung Fu shirt, but it was too expensive. It was hot, and the festival is more for adults so they all got bored and wanted to play in the playground. I bought them a tapioca drink which they did not like at all. J drank the fruity drink but she made the weirdest face when she sucked in a tapioca ball and then asked if she could spit it out. Big M didn't mind it, though.

fearless girls

The local mall had a kiddie festival for a couple of weeks so we decided to bring the kids. This is Big M's second time but the girl's first. It is a lot of fun for them to be able to go on the rides on their own. The only thing is, I don't remember it being this expensive. But that's what happens when you multiply everything by 3. They're not even 4 years old yet and they were tall enough to ride on their own, and that they did.

This thing looked pretty scary to me, but they both wanted to ride it. The metal bar that holds the rider in is much too big for them. I had to repeatedly tell them not to move and not to wiggle. Thank goodness they listened.

This is a flying ride. I explained that when they push the bar forward, the helicopter would go high up, and when they pull it, they will go down. I don't think I did a good job explaining because as soon as they pushed it, they pulled it right back. Either that or one wants to go up and the other wants to go down.

I don't have a picture of Big M since he was an elusive animal. During part of the fun, he and Daddy had to separate off so he could ride more fun rides. Little M just watched everyone had fun. I'm sure he'll have his fun in a couple of years.

Kiddie Festival (4/18/09)

Who knew I have pictures from April that I haven't posted. Back in April, there was a Kiddie Festival that we decided to bring the kids too. It's nothing big, but definitely enjoyable for the little ones.

The girls had their first encounter with mascots and surprisingly, they did just fine. They even played with them. :)

Thing 2 is showing off the pin wheel she won. Incidentally, this was the only time these dresses fit the girls.

Curious George and Thing 1. Notice the girls' hats. They were a part of their Easter Baskets.

Of course...Curious George in a fire truck and grinning like a fool.

We came home with a pet, too. This boy was beyond himself when he won a goldfish. He named it Punky. Punky is still alive and thriving today.
